The Center Program is located in the south wing of the Lapeer County Intermediate School District - Education and Technology Center in Attica, MI. There are 7 classrooms on site, and 1 classroom located in downtown Lapeer. There is also a recreation and exercise room, sensory room, kitchen, and beautiful accessible playground. The unique location of our low incidence classrooms provides many opportunities for employability skills training.
Center Program Classrooms for "low incidence" disabilities include: Moderate Cognitive Impairment (MoCI), Severe Cognitive Impairment (SCI), and Severe Multiple Impairment (SXI) Classrooms. These programs are designed to provide individualized, unique educational programs and services to students between the ages of 3 and 25 with moderate to severe performance challenges.
Students are referred to the LCISD Center Program from local school districts when performance/achievement data indicates the student is no longer making gains in the general education curriculum and no longer benefiting from the general education setting.
