An Important Message
from the Lapeer County ISD....
Please remember that the safety and security of our students are always our number one concern. To that end, the Lapeer County Education & Technology Center is excited to announce the upcoming implementation of Raptor (www.raptortech.com), a visitor management program that will be used to enhance the district’s safety and security measures.
Raptor is an electronic program that will screen every visitor that comes through the doors of our building between the hours of 7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on scheduled school days. Our new Raptor system will be implemented beginning Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Visitors can only enter with a valid, government issued ID (driver’s license or state issued photo ID). Once the ID is scanned and approved, a temporary visitor badge will print with the visitor’s name, as well as date and time the badge was processed. The visitor is then permitted to enter the school building.
**Please note, this process does not replace the procedures for volunteering in classrooms or field trips. The appropriate forms and background checks must still be completed in order to spend time in the classroom and/or with groups of students.
The Raptor visitor management system is being used across the country in businesses, public school systems, universities and by neighboring school districts right here in Lapeer County. We recognize this will be a change for our frequent visitors and ask for your patience and support as we make our building more secure for all students.
