The participants of Ed Tech Garage will get hands-on learning experiences in the automotive field. They will have fun getting their hands dirty while changing tires, fluids, and wrenching. Students will have the opportunity to get up close with an engine as we fire it up, learn about the moving parts, and what makes a car run!

Hands on Health Science

Circulatory, digestive, muscular, nervous, skeletal—these are just a sample of the systems of the body! Each part of the system depends on other parts to create a stable body environment! Students will learn how these systems function and what they do for the body by engaging in hands-on activities held both indoors and outdoors. This camp provides students the opportunity to learn about how the system in their bodies work together to keep them moving!

Intro to Cosmetology

Your student will learn the basics of cosmetology. The first day will consist of facial shapes, hair maintenance, styling, and color theory. Students will learn the art of shampooing using mannequins, braiding, and curling. Moving into the second day, participants will learn about nails by engaging in hands-on activities and performing manicures and pedicures on each other. The final day will provide students with knowledge about different skin types and treatments to best suit these types. Students will perform facials on each other or on mannequins. Upon completion of the camp, participants will be allowed to keep the mannequin heads to practice and continue learning while at home!

Veterinary Science

In this exciting academy, students will participate in dissection while learning about diseases and parasites that plague animals in today’s society. Students will also be able to visit our on-campus barn and learn the skills involved in animal restraint, taking an animal’s temperature, giving an injection and basic first aid all while learning about careers in the field.

Considering a career in welding? Work on various hands-on projects in our welding lab using Shielded and Gas Metal Arc Welding processes, as well as an Oxyacetylene torch and Plasma Arc Cutting. Students will be taking their completed projects home with them!
